How to get your OpenAI invoices sent to your accountant automatically
How to file ChatGPT and API receipts from OpenAI without exporting them by hand.
Where the invoices live
API charges and invoices are in the platform billing settings at platform.openai.com. ChatGPT Plus and Team charges are managed from ChatGPT account settings. They are different billing surfaces.
Which emails to forward
Both send mail from an address at openai.com. Check a real receipt so you do not forward every OpenAI notification.
A useful filter starts from: from the address on an OpenAI receipt for the product you pay for.
1. Separate API and ChatGPT if you pay for both
Look at one receipt for each. If they come from different senders, make one filter per sender. If they share a sender, MonthEnd will file both, which is usually what you want.
2. Forward those receipts
Point the filter at your MonthEnd address. The monthly CSV will list OpenAI as the vendor when the mail comes from openai.com.
3. Download from billing settings when a month is thin
The platform billing page and the ChatGPT account billing area can both show invoices. Upload a missing PDF rather than waiting for a resend.
